Haden Turns 15!!

Novemeber 7th was Haden's birthday, he turned 15! His birthday was on a sunday which made him kind of sad and he kept pouting about it all week, we asked him what he wanted to do on his birthday, he said well first we can skip church and then call grandma and grandpa Fillmore and go out to dinner with them, then come home and have cake. So...that is just what we did! I know we probably should of made him go to church and not go out to dinner on sunday, but it was his day and that is what he wanted to do, besides we had a baptism to go to for cousin Izzy the day before so we all felt like we went to church that week;) Haden is a such a good kid, he keeps us laughing all the time! He is finally growing a little bit this year which is good, i tried to talk him into getting his learners permit and he told me he didnt want to take it cause he cant even reach the car pedals so there's no point! He has a goal of getting taller than me, which isnt too hard to do I am only 5'5", I hope he gets much taller than that! But who knows??? Happy Birthday to my favorite son, well at least that is what he is always telling me! I love all my boys the same...they are all so different that is what makes them so special, so... he is my favorite Haden!

Halloween

This year was a cold and rainy year, we didnt get as many trick or treaters as years past, but we did manage to give out around 90 hot dogs and 5 gallons of hot chocolate, lot more than i thought we would get. This year Tyler wanted to carve pumpkins, the other two boys werent too interested so Doug and I carved pumpkins with him, I tried to talk him into painting them, but he wasnt having it, we bought one of those pumpkin carving kits and he wanted to try it. I picked out the skeleton one because it said easy on it and i liked how different it was...well easy is not how i would describe it, but i am pretty proud of myself for not giving up, at one point i was ready to throw in the towel, i just knew the nose would fall off, but i managed to keep it on! When its all done, i like carving pumpkins :) This year we finally talked Tyler into being an old man for halloween, we did it with Josh when he was little and couldnt talk Haden or Tyler to ever do it,this year he got brave and said he would. He looked awesome and he soaked up all the attention it brought to him, he is kind of a quiet boy, so it was fun to see him in the spot light. His hair has already grown since last week, it almost looks like a normal buzz cut already!

Halloween Bunko

Halloween Bunko, Christi had bunko this year for October and we dressed up, it is always super fun for some reason to play bunko when everyone is all dressed up! She of course did a great job, we had yummy soup in pumpkin bread bowls and a yummy pumpkin dessert( along with lots of other goodies, those are just the highlights:)! It is always so much fun to get together with these girls every month!

Ok I am feeling so overwhelmed by how behind I am with this Blog, so I am just going to try to play catch up with a huge dump of photos from this summer to try to catch up somewhat so i can start blogging again! Sorry not in any particular order, just a quick over view of this summer, we kind of took it easy this summer, We didnt have any vacations we just stayed home , Josh got caught up on his school work, he had a rough 9th grade and had to retake some classes we kept putting it off so we took this summer to get caught up...he didnt have the best summer, but i dont think he will mess up ever again after taking summer school!

We finally got our backyard fixed up, we have been putting it off since we moved in, we tore apart the deck and made it smaller, took out our inground trampoline and filled the hole and sodded, put in a putting green and fire pit, took out our chain link fence, added bushes and put the dogs kennel in the backyard... it is finally looking better, but not perfect, cant wait til the bushes grow and we have some sort of privacy!!

My best friend since i was 4 years old came to visit me this summer, she lives in Pennsylvania so we dont get to see each other very often, it was a fun couple of days, i really enjoy being with Becky and miss her very much!

Josh Turns 17! I can not believe i have a 17 year old! Seems like time is going by so quickly i am kind of freaking out! Josh is my oldest so with him it is a huge learning experience, We love Josh and our house wouldnt be the same without him, he is always joking and keeping us laughing... as long as he isnt getting in trouble, then its a different story! LOL!!

Atlanta/Big 4-0 Birthday!

Last Week I went with Doug to a P.A conference in Atlanta Georgia. It was really nice to get away for a week and spend some quality time together. We tried to squeeze in as much as we could while we were there. We checked out The Aquarium, The CNN center, underground Atlanta, Braves Game, Beach Boys concert, Visit friends who live in Atlanta( Wade runs the Georgia State book store), Shopping, and lots and lots of sight seeing! The highlight of my week has to be my birthday, I have been dreading my birthday every since i turned 39! I just don't want to be in my 40's, I feel like that is getting a little to close to 50 and that scares me to death!! We started the day shopping, which is always fun, but i was feeling a little blue, 40 and fat, trying on clothes that made me look fat or maybe too young for me. I did manage to find a few things. we headed back to the hotel to get cleaned up and then head to dinner. Doug made reservations at a restaurant on top of the Westin that rotates so you can view the whole city from up there. We have been riding the Marta all week, but that night Doug was acting kind of weird, wondering if we should get a taxi, me being cheap was like no way, we will be fine. Well later that night i found out why he was acting so weird. When after we were seated at the table for a while Doug said he needed to use the bathroom, he got up and then came over to me and got down on one knee, i didn't know what he was doing, just goofing around or something, well he grabs my hand and asks me if i would marry him again? I of course said yes. Well then out from behind his back comes a beautiful Diamond ring! It was a total surprise to me, I had no idea he was planning on doing that! The ring is almost exactly like the one he gave me 18 years ago( which i love by the way),just white gold (which i have always wished mine was)and the diamond is about 2 times bigger than my old one! I was shocked!! That was the best birthday surprise ever! Doug is so good to me! I felt like the luckiest girl in the world! All of a sudden I didn't care about my age or the extra fat on my body! I feel so lucky to have him in my life, not because he gave me a new diamond, although that was pretty awesome, just that he took the time to plan something extra special for me knowing that this birthday was a dreaded one for me. He is my best friend and I had a great week with him and that would have been enough for me! Here are some pictures from our week, sorry there is a lot of them!!

COUPON SAVINGS!

So for the past probably 6 or 7 months i have been trying to do the coupon thing, It has taken me a while to get the hang of it, and i still feel like i probably could do better, but i am getting better at it, and i must admit i get a huge rush when i am done. But I still haven't gotten over the red face and the sweat that starts to happen when i begin checking out, that is the only part i cant get used to, everyone looking at you like you are crazy when i hand the cashier 20 or 30 coupons! Another problem i run into around here is that i get all my coupons ready and my list printed out and i head to the store to find everything i am looking for is all gone, i get so mad, cause this has happened to me more than i can count! Well today i had a pretty good list and a huge stack of coupons and i just knew i would get to Smiths and find everything gone...well to my surprise i got everything on my list and some!! I was so excited! I finally took a picture of my purchases, i am pretty proud, i figured i saved about 62%!! Most of the stuff i got was stuff i hate to spend money on, deodorant, soap, laundry soap, air freshener, make-up,tampons etc... Total before coupons and fresh value card $236.46 after $86.39!! whoo hoo Happy Day!!

SPRING BREAK!

This year for spring break we wanted to go somewhere warm but not as expensive as Hawaii so we searched high and low my sister Nancy ended up getting us a great deal at the Tahiti Village in Las Vegas. We stayed there an entire week and had a great time. We didn't want to do too much, just do a few things and relax, the weather at first was kind of cold and windy, but by the end of the week it got up to the 80's it was really nice. The boys for the most part were really good, although it is hard to keep all three of them happy, they are all so different. Lounging by the pool was Doug , Tyler and my idea of a good time, but Josh and Haden were more into spending as much of our money as possible! We ended up doing some really fun things.

Saturday we checked in to our hotel and went to dinner at Tahiti Joe's, pretty spendy for not so good pizza, but it was fun. Sunday we woke up and decided to lay out by the lazy river, it wasn't the warmest day, but compared to Utah it was nice. Josh and Haden stayed in the room most of the day watching some basketball game on TV, they finally came out and joined us later.

Monday Nancy and Peter were coming threw Vegas on their way home from Utah so they stopped and we had lunch together at Chili's. It was a nice visit and the kids all seemed to enjoy each other. It was a cold day even rained a little so it was a perfect day to just chill with cousins for a couple of hours. Later that night we got tickets to go see The Phantom Of The Opera at the Venetian, we had a hard time deciding if we should bother taking the boys or not, but we felt it is something that they should see. Josh and Haden liked it okay, but Tyler Loved it! It was a really neat show, it was my 4Th time seeing it(1st time in Vegas) and the special effects here were really neat, i am glad i took them although next time maybe i will leave Josh and Haden home, they were pretty goofy and at one point Haden "accidentally" farted and he thought he was going to sneak it out well apparently it was a loud one and those two had the giggles for about 30 minutes, i didn't think they would ever stop laughing, but i know how it is trying to be quiet when you are not supposed to laugh sometimes gets me going even more, don't know why??

Tuesday we ended up shopping at the outlet mall, the boys eyed the Nike store and had been wanting to go since the moment we pulled into the hotel. It was super crowded and we did get a few deals but nothing too great. That night our friends Mark and Emily from St. George came down and had dinner with us. We decided to check out a Italian restaurant that was supposed to be really good, it was a fun place to eat but we all agreed we wouldnt eat there again, the food wasnt that good and it was very expensive! It was fun thou and we always have a good time with them.

Wednseday we decided to go check out the Hoover Dam. I have never been there before and Doug remembers going when he was a kid. There was tons of traffic on the way there it took us forever to get there. We took the power plant tour, which i personally think is a waste of money, but it was interesting. It is a really impressive sight, just didnt need to spend the money for the tour, we almost spent just as much getting ice cream cones and nachos afterwards! On our way home we wanted to check out the Ethel M chocolate factory, we got there too late and all the workers were cleaning up, so we didnt get to see all the chocolate being made, that made us sad... but saved me from buying a bunch of chocolates! They also have a cactus garden that we went threw, it was nice and free so that makes me happy! That night we went back to the hotel and made dinner then checked out the fitness room and we all tried to work off some of the crap we have been eating all week!!

Thursday was a really nice day so we decided to lay out by the pool again. It was pretty crowded, but we managed to find a pretty good place to hang out. afterwards we went back to the room. Doug went golfing with our friend Jason while we took naps and got ready for dinner. after they went golfing we all went out to eat. We ate at BJ's and it was the best dinner we had all trip! I wish we had one here! The highlight of that dinner was a big warm chocolate chip cookie topped with ice cream!YUM!

Friday Doug woke up early and golfed with his friend Chiz while we all slept in and got ready for the day. When Doug came home we decided to hit the mall again. after the mall we were all pretty tired so we got a movie from Redbox and stayed in and made dinner and watched a movie. Saturday we had to check out by 10 so we were up and out pretty early. We stopped in St. George and had lunch with Mark and Emily at Tom's Deli while Josh and Haden went to their friends for about an hour or so. They were so happy to get to spend time with them, it made us all a little home sick for St.George! Well all in all we had a great time and now back to life!

I have been bugging Doug for a while now to go see a dermatologist, he has these little sores on his face and head that will scab up and bleed and are almost always red. Well last Monday he finally decided to go. They biopsied 3 areas and froze about a dozen other areas. They called him Thursday with the results...Squamous Cell Carcinoma! What?? I was thinking they would come back pre-cancanerous and they would just freeze them off. Which they have done before. Squamous cell carcinoma is 2ND most common type of skin cancer. It is rarely found in anyone under the age of 50 and they are more likely to be males. They scheduled Doug to go into the office today to remove them, they used a procedure called Mohs where you go in have them cut off a piece and right there in the office they freeze the sample and look at it under the microscope to see if they got it all. So we had to wait about an hour between cuts, but luckily for Doug it only took two tries to get it all, we were really worried cause we kind of found out about this fast and didn't have much information about it, so we searched the Internet and got ourselves really scared, the pictures looked horrible! They told us there is a plastic surgeon on hand if they needed one, which of course freaked us out more, being that two of these were on his nose, Doug was terrified of what he would end up looking like. Well they were able to close the holes up without a skin graft and the doctor says he will heal nicely, it is hard to tell by looking at him now, but i know he will be fine. Doug told me i could only put this up on my blog if i made sure i told everyone to wear sunscreen! The doctor said most of the damage is done by the time you are 10 years old. If you stay out of the sun as an adult sometimes it will actually heal itself, but if you continue to go out in the sun unprotected the more likely it will turn into something bad. The doctor also said once you've had Squamous cell cancer you will more than likely have more where they came from, so Doug will have to see the Dermatologist every 6 months to keep everything in check! I feel bad that Doug has to go threw all of this, but i am glad we caught it before it got super bad, people can lose there noses and ears because they didn't go in in time. Doug is super worried about looking ugly, but i will love him no matter what he looks like, he is my everything, besides i have an ugly crooked nose so we can have not so perfect noses together!

Wow! I can not believe how fast time has flown! I finally downloaded some pictures off of my camera and decided i better update my blog before it gets way to overwhelming!! I will try to keep it short.

TYLER TURNS 11!

Feb. 2ND was Tyler's birthday, he turned 11! I can not believe that my baby is 11! i don't know where the time goes, but it is making me very sad. This month i had to take him to his maturation program at school, i just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that this would be my last time doing that and that Tyler is old enough to even be talking about those types of things! For his birthday we just had grandma and grandpa Phillippi over to go to dinner with us at Chili's and then back to the house for cake.

SUPERBOWL PARTY
We had our annual Superbowl party at our house with the Fillmore side of the family. It was fun everyone brought yummy food and we had a fun evening. We had our usual betting boards, Haden, Doug and Tyler each won one quarter so that was nice, i was hoping to win something, but no such luck, so i just had to enjoy all the yummy food!

Josh, Bryce and Collin decided to sleep out in there fort that they have out in the land back behind our houses. It was a freezing cold night and during the coldest part of winter, there was snow everywhere, but they wanted to do it. Doug and I stopped by with hot chocolate to make sure they were alright, they are funny boys! i can see why this would be fun though, if it werent snowing i could see myself sleeping out there, well if they made some sort of bathroom, then forsure I would do it!

Josh played Jr. Jazz this year, he played with Seth White, they had a fun time, their team actually made it all the way to the finals and they took second, that was really fun to watch! Way to go guys!

VALENTINES DAY!
Valentines Day was on a Sunday this year, Doug had Monday off so we decided after church to leave the kids and we would go spend the night up in Salt Lake, we got a hotel room and went shopping up at the Gateway, it was fun, we had reservations at Flemings steakhouse. We rode trax from our hotel up to dinner and shopping then came back and just relaxed, Doug had been working long hours and we havent been able to see much of each other so that was nice. We woke up and ate breakfast at IHOP and then headed back home, it was a much needed little break. The kids did well without us, so that was nice.

MAX GOES TO THE VET
We took Max to the vet to get his shots and check up, he is getting sooo big, he weighed 65 pounds at 4 months! The vet told us we named him right(Maximus) he is going to be huge! We found out that he only has one testicle and may require surgery if the other one doesnt drop, so not happy about that one! He is still super cute even though he is a huge crazy dog!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

we celebrated my moms birthday last sunday, Brennen my nephew just got back from his mission and he had all of us over to mom and dads for a slideshow of his mission, so we decided to also celebrate mom's birthday while we were all together. I made her a cake and we tried to trick her with the trick candles, they worked pretty good. It is always fun when we all get together! Happy Birthday Mom!

Christmas Time

yeap, I know it is already January 8Th and i haven't written about Christmas, but i better do it know or i never will!! In my defense i have still received a few Christmas cards this week, so apparently i am not the only one who is a little behind! Well Christmas for me was really hard for me to get into, I don't know why, even playing Christmas music was kind of annoying to me, and i love to listen to Christmas music! I felt very stressed out for some reason, and i couldn't seem to get my act together, I was Christmas shopping a few days before Christmas, which is so not like me, and I was just kind of depressed. That could be the result of a lot of things, me being so unorganized, the lights going out in my tree the day after setting it all up, the kids being extra mean to each other,or the kids telling me different things they want for Christmas every single day, me dropping my curling iron on the tip of my nose and burning it or me sticking a q-tip so far into my ear it actually ruptured my eardrum or maybe it was just that time of the month, or my first Christmas being off of anti-depressents, I don't know, all i do know is i don't want it to be like that again next year, I love Christmas time and i don't ever want to have a yucky one like that again. Don't get me wrong, It wasn't all bad, just the preparing of it was. Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day actually turned out great!

FILLMORE FAMILY PARTY

This year it was my turn to do the Fillmore Christmas party at our house, We had a nice dinner, watched the DVD that i make for Charlie and Elaine every year,( which was another stress, it took me a couple days to make, then i went to edit it and it was totally erased, i had to re-do the whole thing!!) then played the gift exchange game. We usually have finger type foods we decided we wanted to do a sit down dinner this year, so that kind of added to my stress. But it all seemed to come together in the end, which it usually does, i just need to learn how to cope with stress better i think. Here are some pictures of that day.

CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas eve day Doug decided to take Haden snowboarding. Uncle Dave was in town and wanted to go skiing, Haden just started snowboarding last year and loves it, but he is pretty much the only one in the family who does, Doug used to ski before he met me, but hasnt gone for like 20 years. so he rented some ski's and off he went. I was worried he was going to hurt himself, but I should of known better than to worry, he is so good at everything he does, he said it was just like riding a bike, then Haden tells me he even did some rails!! What? Glad i wasnt there to see that! Anyways they had a nice time, Rachiele and Korey were there too. I stayed home to make some treats to take to the Christmas Eve party at my parents house that night.

Christmas Eve night we headed over to my parents. Everyone brought treats to share, we read the nativity scene out of the bible and the kids acted out the parts, then there was a talent show, the kids who wanted to share a talent could, my kids dont really have talents, Tyler composed a song in school that he wanted to share, but my other two didnt have anything, i had to remind myself, that just cause they dont play a musical instrument or sing(which they both could do if they wanted to) doesnt mean they arent talented, they are good at stuff you just cant show off like that, i have to remind myself that about myself too. I did try to talk Josh and Haden to do the new dance move they learned how to do, "the Jerk" but they wouldnt do it. They do it all the time at home. Anyways it was fun to see the kids singing, playing the piano and the trumpet. After the talent show we played the white elephant gift game, i am pretty sure i got the worst one, the monkey butt powder, dont be surprised if that one comes back next year! Ha ha ha!

Then we came home and opened up our new PJ's and put them on and watched The Christmas Story, that is one of my all time favorite Christmas movie. Then the kids willingly went to bed so that we could play Santa.

CHRISTMAS MORNING!
The boys woke us up at 6:15! Doug and I didn't get to bed until 2, so we were really tired! They were so excited and i worried that one of them might not be happy, well i was right, we had a little issue, but in the end he realized he got a good Christmas. One year i will get it right, but really i think they are so spoiled, i hope they realize how lucky they are. The issue was Josh wanted an Iphone, Haden wanted an Itouch and Tyler wanted a Ipod Nano. We got Josh an Iphone(Used), but Josh already had an Itouch so we gave Haden Josh's Itouch and Tyler got Hadens Nano, so Haden felt that since we didnt have to buy it, it shouldn't count as a gift, i was super upset with him we had a talk about it and hopefully he gets it. There was no reason to buy new ones when these were in perfectly good condition, and i did mention to him, just cause we didn't pay for them for Christmas, we still paid for them so i don't really understand what the issue was. He felt bad for feeling that way and so did i, but we got over it.(no wonder Christmas stresses me out!) Josh was extremely happy and he even said i think i got too much, so at least one of them is starting to get it! One of the highlights of Christmas was a pinball machine we got, it is an old 1975 pinball game called El Dorado, it is a nice change of pace from all the electronic devices we have all over the house. I think Doug and I like it the most, but that's okay, gives me something to play when everyone is watching football:)

CHRISTMAS DINNER

After a nice a relaxing morning, we headed back over to my parents house for Christmas dinner. My mom had the table all set up so beautiful, and everyone brought something to contribute for the dinner. Everything tasted so good! I was a much more relaxed person, Christmas was offically over with and i wont have to worry about it again for another year! Hopefully next year i can be in better spirits and have a better attitude towards everything, cause i really do love Christmas time!

I have been terrible about updating my blog and the more behind i get the more i feel like i cant do it, cause i have missed so many things. I will try to post some pictures and get updated, it may be super long, i am sorry, but hopefully after i get caught up i will be better.

PINEWOOD DERBY
This will be our last pinewood derby, YEA!! Tyler missed a few weeks of scouts and we found out that he had a pinewood derby like in a couple of days, he really wanted to do it and Doug's schedule was crazy that week, so the night before they stayed up late and banged out this truck. It actually did very well and he was super happy. They don't give out 1st,2ND, 3rd place awards anymore, they want everyone to feel like winners, i personally think that they need to get used to it, in life not everyone wins! That is just my opinion on the subject, don't get me started, kids these days are so spoiled!! I think they need to learn that you win some and you lose some and that is life! With three boys, i am very glad to be done with the pinewood derby's!

HADEN TURNS 14!!

Haden turned 14 on November 7th. For his birthday he wanted to go to dinner with the family, he invited his cousin Michael and His Grandma and Grandpa Phillippi to go to dinner with us, we went to Tepanaki's (sp?) his favorite place to eat. we had a really fun chef and i took alot of fun pictures and when i went to get them off of the camera i somehow managed to erase all of them, i was so upset! i even had Jim see if he could find them on the memory card, but no luck:( So i took this picture of him the next day! It is freaking me out how old they are getting! Haden is a really fun kid, he is always saying funny things and keeps me laughing all the time, he helps me out tons around the house and he just really is a joy to this family! He is my hugger and is always giving me hugs and kisses but lately i am seeing some changes, so he might be going threw the change?? I am sad, but Hopefully it will trigger some growth! The other day his grandma Fillmore asked him if he was going into the 7Th grade next year, and he looked kind of sad and said no grandma next year i will be in 9Th! I remember people saying the same thing to me, i told him one day he will be happy people think he is younger than he really is:)

THANKSGIVING

We had Thanksgiving at my parents house this year, everyone brought yummy food and it is always fun to just hang out and chat with the family. I don't know why, but i didn't take too many pictures of the day, probably because i was too busy stuff my face full of food! The pictures i did take didn't turn out very well but here they are, so unexciting, i really am going to try to be better!

GINGERBREAD HOUSES

We had our annual gingerbread house party the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we met at my parents house and made our houses, then we exchanged our girl gifts and then off to lunch at Kneaders. It is always fun, i just wish i could get more creative each year, instead my house seems to look more and more like a little kid made it, oh well, it is more about the fun time spending with the sisters and sister-in-laws and of course my mom.

NEW PUPPY!!

This is our new puppy Maximus or Max.Our old dog Gunner has been acting lonely lately and Haden has been wanting a puppy for some time now, i am always anti until we start looking at them and then i get weak cause they are so dang cute! We decided to buy one and not tell the kids, we took them with us to pick him up, they thought we were going shopping at the mall, when they realized what we were doing they were soo excited!! We told them it was an early christmas gift. This little picture is when we first brought him home, if you saw him now he is HUGE and is only 4 months old, i am afraid he is eating all the food and Gunner isnt getting any! I bet this dog will get to be 100 pounds! YIKES!!

JAZZ GAME

A couple of weeks ago Doug got 8 free tickets to the Jazz game, he called me and asked if i wanted to go, i was like sure i guess, the boys will have fun, but i really wasnt too excited about it. Doug said i think we should let the boys each invite a friend. so i texted them at school and they each invited a friend except Tyler and they were pretty excited. later that day Doug recieved the tickets and was shocked when he saw the price on the tickets, 4 of them were $905 a piece and 4 were $579 a piece!! We ended up inviting my brother Jeff to use the last ticket. When we got to the seats they were front row center and three rows behind the basket!! The boys were in heaven, we took turns at halftime and switched seats so we each got to experience the front row, It was so much fun, and it even came with free dinner and halftime snacks! What a fun night!

As i am baking and trying to get things ready for Tomorrow's big day, I am finding that i want to eat the yummy treats and stuff that i had growing up as a kid. Not so much because they are the yummiest things ever,( although some of it is) it just brings back memories of my youth and of family get together's. As i am making the recipes from my past, It is bringing back so many memories. I can only hope that I am making memories for my boys and that when they are older they too will have certain things that i have made or done that will remind them of family togetherness and love.
I am very thankful for my boys, they are my life, I enjoy each of them in there own different ways. They are truly the best things I have ever accomplished in my life! Of course i couldn't do it without my true love, Doug, he is the best thing that has ever come into my life! I am truly blessed to have a husband who loves me unconditionally, and works so hard to keep me and the boys happy, healthy and financially stable. These are just a few things I am thankful for today...there are many, many, more, but that is what is on my mind this Thanksgiving Season. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family!

HALLOWEEN BUNKO!!

Yesterday was bunko, Audrey decided we should dress up since it is close to Halloween. All but two dressed up and it was so much fun seeing everyone in costume! It was a really fun night! I dressed as little red riding hood, (Doug is dressing as the wolf(grandma)for Halloween) I ordered my dress online, so i didn't realize how short it would be, it is alot shorter than i thought it would be, so come Halloween i will have some bloomers to put underneath, but for Bunko i just had to make sure i didn't bend over for anything!! I love Halloween and any excuse to dress up, what a fun night and to top it all off I won Most Bunkos( after a roll off with Christy)So i got to choose first prize! What a fun night, Great food, fun friends, dressing up and on top of it all I won!! Doesn't get much better than that:)

MEN'S CHOIR

Josh is in Men's choir at school, he had his first concert Tuesday night, of course I didnt find out til the day before. We had awesome seats, but of course the director stood right in front of Josh the whole time so we didnt get too many good pictures. He did pretty good for a boy who is really isnt into singing, although he really can sing. They wore those choir gowns and i thought he looked very handsome up there singing.

This past weekend Doug got invited to tour the Breg brace company in Carlsbad. He decided to take me with him. It was a quick trip, but a very relaxing one. We layed out by the pool, Doug golfed, I slept in, we did some shopping at the swap meet and we hit Old Town for dinner, and just enjoyed each others company. I was a little nervous cause we left the boys home, We had my parents take Tyler and Josh and Haden were pretty much alone until the nights when our friend Brady came to sleep over. You know i was texting them often and they were starting to get mad at me, saying that I needed to trust them, I did trust them, but it is always scary! They did great and the house was even clean when we got home! Thanks Mom and Dad for taking such good care of Tyler, he had a blast! And thanks Brady for spending the night with the boys so I didnt worry the whole time!

SOCCER/FLAG FOOTBALL

Haden is our big sports guy, he loves soccer, he has been playing for a long time, this year he got put on a AAA team, we weren't too sure about it, cause it involves playing farther away, but it hasn't been too bad. At first he wasn't too sure about his new team, but they are getting to know each other better and he loves soccer so much there was no way he wasn't going to play. Their team is undefeated so far, they have one more game to play on Saturday, so hopefully they will win! But as much as he loves to play soccer he always wants to try other sports, but with soccer taking up so much of his time he can never play anything else. Well one day he got a call from Bryce Curtis and asked if Haden would want to play on a Rec flag football team, he was pretty excited cause he got to play with alot of his friends and he got to do something different, although when it came down to playing a game or missing soccer practice, he chose soccer practice every time! They didn't play very good, but they had a good time. After Saturday i was looking forward to a little break in the soccer schedule, but no, indoor starts next week, so i don't see any end in my future, but i glad he has something he loves and enjoys!

HUNTING TRIP

Almost every year Doug goes hunting on the opening of the Duck hunt. This year was the second year he was able to take Josh and Haden with him. They went to Fish Lake. They had a lot of fun with all their uncles, shooting and messing around. I don't think they shot anything, but they had a good time and that is all that matters. The boys love spending time with Doug. When they go it is just Tyler and I at home, so we did some fun things, we painted pictures, went shopping, took grandma Phillippi to dinner, and hung out. Tyler is a funny boy, he really doesn't want anything to do with hunting, but i am afraid one day he will change his mind and i will be home all alone, until that happens, i am glad i have Tyler to keep me company.

The boys wanted to change their bathroom for a while now, They had a hard time deciding what they wanted, the both like different sports teams, so it wouldn't be fair to do one without the other being mad. Then one day i thought, how about a Jordan bathroom? They were all excited about that idea. They love Michael Jordan and he is not a bad role model to have, not to mention he is one good lookin man! Anyways I just thought i could search the Internet and find what i wanted, no such luck, there isn't a Jordan bathroom item to be found! I did find a jumpman shower curtain that some lady made on EBay, it was made on a cheap white shower curtain and the jumpman was painted on, it didn't look very good and she wanted $70 bucks for it! I wasn't going to pay that much for that! So i started thinking, and I called up my mom and told her my idea. With the help of my dad's work(overhead projector) and my mom's awesome sewing skills we came up with a much cuter shower curtain! I also came up with the idea of having some sort of Jordan towel, so i found some Jumpman patches on eBay and put those on the towels and bought wrist bands to tie the towels together, so the boys wont forget they are decorative towels and wipe there acne face stuff all over them and ruin them, like they have done with like at least 20 towels we own already! Anyways it turned out great and the boys loved it! They had some friends over when i put it all together and they all said, "that's tight" so you know that it is cool!! I just want to thank my mom, I wasn't worried for a second that it wouldn't turn out, because my mom is a very talented sewer, she was worried that she would mess up and make it look bad, but i never doubted her! I am pretty good at coming up with ideas, but i cant sew very good, so Thank you mom for making it look exactly as i pictured!! Also the boys thank you too!!

18 YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG!

Yesterday was our 18Th Anniversary! I can not believe how fast time is flying, I can remember people saying the older you get the faster time will go, well i must be getting old, cause I swear I just wrote about our 17Th! Doug had to work (of course), but he did send me flowers, even though we promised we weren't going to buy each other anything! I felt bad, cause i didn't get him anything! We ended up going out to dinner to the new Texas Roadhouse that just opened up in Lehi, it was really good and we had a good time being able to be alone for a little bit. I know people look at us sometimes and want to barf cause we are pretty affectionate people, but i don't ever want to be in a relationship that isn't still full of passion and love for each other! We have gone threw so much together that it is hard to not be more in love with each other every day, month and year! I feel extremely blessed to be married to such a great guy, He is perfect for me. I am so far from perfect and he accepts me for me. He really is my best friend! Growing older frightens me very much, but knowing that Doug will be by my side threw it all, is very comforting. I love you Doug! Happy Anniversary!

This picture makes me laugh, we bought each other Jordan's for our Wedding gifts to each other and we wore them during our reception. No sore feet for me:) But the funny part to me is that we both really never wore these shoes for anything else and we saved them. Haden wears my old pair and just about wore them out and Josh has out grown Doug's! 18 years ago i would have never imagined that!

OWLZ GAME

BACK TO SCHOOL!

The kids started back to school this past Thursday. This year I have One in High school, one in Jr. High and one in Elementary. So weird! Josh usually isn't a huge fan of school, but so far loves High School, but not for the reasons you might think, There are two reasons why he likes high school, Hot Chicks and open campus for lunch! I am hoping those hot chicks will help keep him motivated in other areas of school too! Last year i had a hard time getting pictures of the boys on the 1st day because they were too old and too cool, but this year I managed to get some! Now with the boys back in school, i really am hoping to get myself back into the habit of exercising, summer has messed with my motivation, but seeing my big ole butt in the mirror and trying on those jeans again, should be motivation enough!

PHILLIPPI FAMILY REUNION!

We had been planning a Family reunion for over a year now, this year we decided to go to California to spend time on the beach. We were really excited, cause I love the beach and i know that kids of all ages have fun there. We planned the reunion part of our vacation for the 1st three days of the week and the rest of the week families could go off and do there own things. We were sad cause the closer the reunion got, the less families could go, Nancy and Peter found out they were expecting baby #5 and Peter probably wouldn't be able to get work off, so they were out, Ashley didn't want to take two kids alone without her husband, Brent and Nancy were coming out to Utah the following week, and Jim and Melissa decided last minute it wouldn't be the best financially for them to go. I was getting sad, and thinking maybe we just should bag the whole thing, but we were ready for a vacation! I am so glad we did, it was fun, we stayed in Sunset beach on a hotel right on the beach. My parents, Dawn and Jon and family, Jason and Rachael and family and Jeff and Kelly and family were all there. We spent most of the time just relaxing and playing at the beach. We saw and did a lot of things. Doug and I and our little family decided on our free days we were going to take the kids to experience Venice beach, they had a great time looking at all the weirdo's and Josh had a blast playing pick up basketball with some guys there. We did some shopping, lots of eating and more and more beach!! We even took some time and went and visited Doug's boss's dad,Sy Kimball who lives on Balboa Island. He took us all out on his boat and gave us a tour. It was a great time! It is always fun when i am with my family and I have Doug for a whole week with no work

On our way to California we stopped in Vegas, Nancy and Peter were there after Cousin week to pick up there girls, so we decided to see if they were still there and have lunch with them. they were still there so we met and visited them for a bit before they had to head back to Arizona and we went on our way! I was glad i got to see Nancy, I miss my sister!

Quincy and Abbey (Nancy's kids) came to stay a week with grandma and grandpa Phillippi(my parents). My mom was really wanting to make sure the girls were fully entertained while they were here. I believe she did a very good job, in fact they came up with Cousin week, which was full of fun! We had a BBQ at the Park one night, we took a hike up to battle creek falls, even ventured back to Liberty Land, went to the Stickey Shoe(American Fork Movies), sleepovers, crafts, cousin game of soccer and even scrap booked about the whole week on the last night! Tyler was in heaven and cried his eyes out when the week was over and Quincy and Abbey left, he loves his cousins!

This summer has really gone by fast! I feel like we did a lot of stuff and I hope i can remember it all! Some things I took tons of pictures and others I didn't take very many or none at all. I will try to get caught up to speed.

SWIM LESSONS

This is Tyler's third year in swim lessons, he really has come a long way. I have never seen a child so afraid of water as Tyler was. When he turned 8 and was to be baptised, he was up nights worrying about putting his whole head in the water, he was truly afraid!! Well now two years later he is actually swimming! He still cant get over being afraid of the deep end, but baby steps, right? He takes swim lessons every year with his cousins Cole and Carter, they always have a blast!

JOSH'S 16TH BIRTHDAY!

July 29Th was Josh's big 16Th birthday! I would say sweet 16, but we all know he has kissed a girl, so he is no longer sweet!! hahahaha! Just kidding. I can not believe he is 16. He is still pretty immature for his age, but when i think about it, so am I!! He hasn't got his drivers licence or even his learner permit at the time, but we are just letting him decide when he is ready. I do know that he has downloaded the test application on his ipod touch, so he is thinking about it, we even quizzed him a little and he will probably do fine. I am not pushing the issue, I am not sure i am ready to deal with it!!

For Josh's birthday he wanted to go shopping at the mall. So i gave him $200cash and he went to town. he did really good, not like i thought, he actually bought stuff on sale and even bought a used game for his Xbox to save money, I was impressed with the amount of stuff he got. He bought 4 t-shirts, xbox game, Pair of shoes(Jordan's), and a really nice pair of headphones! I was proud of his thriftiness!! We had to go to Haden's soccer tournament on his birthday, but he went and didn't complain too much. After the game we waited for Doug to come home and then we went to dinner and then home to eat cake.

Josh is such a fun kid, we love him tons! He drives me crazy sometimes and yet i wouldn't want him any other way! Happy Birthday Buddy!!

FAMILY

besides family reunion and cousin week, we have had a lot of family fun. We got home from our reunion and Brent and Nancy and family came to town from New Jersey for a week, we did some more BBQ's, shopping and hanging out, then Ashley and her kids came out from Texas for a week and we did more hanging out, BBQ's, lunch's and shopping!! I am sad I think I had taken so many pictures in California, i just kind of stopped taking pictures, so i have none of those two weeks:( I really enjoy being around my family, it is always fun. It was nice thou, to get back into the swing of things... just in time for back to school!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Last Monday was my birthday, time has flown by and i haven't written about my day yet, so i thought i better hurry before my next birthday rolls around!! I started my day like most, Melissa and I went for our walk, When she came to the door there was a gift for me on the doorstep, it was a box of Jr.Mints and a wax bead burner, but no note, i don't know if there was one, or if the wind blew it away, so i still don't know who to thank for that gift! So thank you to whoever did that, the Jr. Mints are long gone, by the way! When i got home from walking i got some flowers delivered from Doug, they were beautiful and a big surprise since his gift to me was finally painting our bedroom, something i have been wanting to do for over a year now! I am so excited to have it done and i think it looks so good! Thanks babe!! Then Carter suggested we go out to lunch for my birthday, i can never turn down lunch, so Melissa and all of the boys went to Cobblestone for lunch, that was fun, they were all really good. After the boys went home and Me and Melissa did a little shopping, which is always fun, trying on swimsuits however nobody should do on their birthday, but besides that, it was a good time! When i got home the doorbell rang and it was my visiting teaching companion Janet Hays at the door with a big bouquet of flowers and a ice-cream cake from cold stone! She is the best companion ever and spoils me rotten with every holiday and is probably the nicest person i have ever met!!! Doug got home and we all headed to Red Lobster for dinner with my in laws. Most people know i don't like seafood, but they have the best cheesy garlic rolls and I love their Cajun chicken Alfredo!! We had a nice visit with them and an awesome dinner. When we got home Jim and Melissa came by and gave me a gift card to thanksgiving point movies theaters along with a couple movie mugs with free refills and large popcorn!! They spoiled me too! I thought lunch was good enough, but i must say i was super happy to have my own movie mugs!! We already put them to good use this weekend!! Audrey came by a few days ago and brought me a big yummy sugar cookie from flower girls and Dough boys, and a pint of her homemade freezer jam, which i haven't tried yet, but i am sure it is good, she makes yummy food!! I also want to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes on facebook, emails and phone calls, all in all it was a great day and i felt very special, so thank you everyone!!! San Diego

Doug had a P.A. convention this past week to get his CME's in San Diego. He decided to take me with him and leave the kids at home since we spent our spring break with the kids in Hawaii, we felt like we needed some alone time. We had our niece Carrissa watch the boys while we were gone and she said they were so easy! WHAT?? They seem to be sooo much better for other people which i guess is a good thing, but jeez cant i ever get to see that side of them? But it was really good knowing the the kids were being taken care of so we could spend time away not be worrying the whole time. We left Saturday afternoon and Carrissa was still at work so they had to be alone for a couple of hours, we hadn't even been gone for 30 minutes and i get this text from Haden telling me how much he hates Josh and how he was beating him up and holding him by his neck and choking him, I thought, oh man, this is not going to be good. But as soon as She came, everything changed, we are so grateful for that! The only gripe we heard was that she isn't a good cook, they told us some of the things that she made and we just had to laugh, and it made them miss my so called cooking, which made me feel good.

We stayed at the San Diego Marriott hotel & Marina, it was really nice, but WAY expensive and i was pretty disappointed in the fact that you had to pay for high speed Internet 12.95 per day and it wasn't even wireless, it cost 22.95 per day to park and they didn't even have a little fridge in the room to keep stuff cold!! you would think for 225. a night all of that would be included!! The good part was we had a great view from our hotel, we were right next to the convention center and within walking distance to most things. We were there for 5 nights and we tried to squeeze in as much as we could. some of the things we did were Kobe Swap meet, Padres Game, shop and ate in Old Town, Body Worlds museum, USS Midway(Aircraft carrier) Museum, Walk the Gaslamp district, Ate at the Oceanaire restaurant, In and Out, Jack in the Box, got a Thrifty's ice cream(chocolate malted crunch and Mint n chip) drive to Coronado and check out the beach, Doug went Golfing at The Bridges Golf Course etc.... We had a great time and it went by way too fast, but we did miss the boys and they started texting me saying that they missed me, which is very rare, so it was definitely time to go home!

So most of you know that Josh's cell phone got dropped in the ocean when we were in Hawaii, it was only a few weeks old, i was pretty darn mad!! Well he has been able to get it to work for a short amount of time then it would freak out and stop working, or start calling people on it's own or something weird. He had to go back to his old cracked screened crappy phone, and was on our case constantly about getting a new one, which, with all the crap he has been pulling lately i was NOT giving in, not even for a second! Well the other day he came home from school and got our big ole Costco bag of rice out and started pouring some in a little baggie, not to mention all over the floor. I know he isn't going to make dinner, so i get after him, what are you doing? He said someone at school told him to put his cell phone in a bag of rice over night and it would totally dry out the inside of his phone, I was like whatever, cant hurt. So that night i looked it up online and found that other people were saying that this worked, so i was kind of excited to see the next day if it worked or not. Well IT WORKED!! He was one happy kid and so was I, I wasn't going to be tortured by the question, "when can i get a new phone" anymore!! Yea!! It has been about a week and the phone seems to be working fine! I have always loved rice, but now i have another reason to love it!! Thank you, Thank you!!

Sunday was Charlie's (Doug's dad) Birthday, his 80Th!! I sure got lucky when i married into Doug's family, i inherited the nicest in-laws a girl could ask for! Doug is the youngest of 5 boys, and i know that all of Doug's wit and charm come from his dad. He is a hard worker and loves his family unconditionally. I have never met a nicer man. He is always thinking of others,and makes those around him feel special. We celebrated his birthday at The Olive Garden, my kids love their grandpa and spending time with him, i can only hope that they grow up to be like him someday! Happy Birthday!

Maui Day One

April 11th we headed off to the airport to go to Hawaii!! We were so excited but for some reason i was getting all stressed about it, when packing and stuff i would get this crazy feeling that we wouldnt have a good time. I have the magic 8 ball on my computer and every time i asked it if I was going to have a good time, it would say things like, Outlook bad or doesnt look good. I did this more than any adult should and i started thinking crazy thoughts! Well we arrive at the airport and check in and made it threw security, which usually we dont all make it without some sort drama, and headed to our gate. We are on the people mover thingy ( our family calls it the lazy man's dream) and i was chatting away with Doug and the boys not looking forward when all of a sudden Doug says, "heads up!" well my brain cant compute fast enough what that means and it is the end of the ride and next thing you know me and my carry on are down on the ground! i break my fall with my knee and hand and i am completley embarrassed and mad that they didnt let me know until last second! My hand is hurting, my knee is hurting and my face is so red i could crawl inside a hole! I forgot to mention that my period is due any second, so i am PMSing pretty hard and I kind of got pissy with Doug for letting that happen. He felt bad, he didnt realize the end was near until it was too late. So we get to the gate, i pop some Tylenol and i settle down try to remember we are on our way to Paradise. We get on our first plane, it is a little one and I end up sitting with Tyler, it was only for an hour so it wasnt going to be too bad. Well drinks start being served and Tyler gets a Sprite and then decides he needs to go to the bathroom, so being such a tiny plane and all, manuvering pass me he dumps his sprite on my lap! Remember i am PMSing and i am not too happy with the fact that not only am i freezing cold and wet from his drink, but that when it dries i will be all sticky and we still have a 5 1/2hour flight after this one! At this point i am thinking, that stupid magic 8 ball is right! Our flight was a little late and we only had 30 minutes till our other flight left, so we didnt have time to go to the bathroom and get cleaned up or anything. We made our flight though and all was good. Then i had to do something i swore i would never do, I had to go to the bathroom on the airplane, I held it as long as i could, but I had to do it, and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, but i was sad that i now cant say i have never been to the bathroom on an airplane, dumb, i know, i am just weird like that i guess! We arrive and my spirits are back up again, we are in Hawaii and vacation has offically arrived! yeah!! We get all checked in and decide to get in our suits and check out the pools and the beach. Josh has been texting his girlfriend non stop the whole day and is happy as long as he can talk to Sami. This is when i am sure we are not going to have a good time at all, Josh drops his cell phone in the ocean on accident!! There goes the good mood, Josh is pissed, i am pissed cause we just bought him that phone a couple of weeks ago and he has gone threw more phones than i have had in my whole lifetime! At this point I am sure this vacation is going to be the biggest waste of money I have ever spent!

Day 2~ Easter Sunday

It is amazing what waking up to the birds chirping and beautiful weather does to change ones attitude! We woke up to a bunch of kids outside having an Easter egg hunt, my kids are all too big to do that anymore, kind of sad:( We got up and decided to check out the gift and craft fair that was going on in Lahaina. It ended up being kind of lame so we decided to go check out Front street. We ended up eating lunch there at a place called BJ's Pizzeria, it was okay, but lunch for 5 for $100. I would have thought it would be awesome!! We walked the shops a little and then headed back to our condo to just chill out on the beach. It was really relaxing, the kids were really good, the water was a little too calm by our beach so they decided to bury each other in the sand, it kept them busy while Doug and I just layed out and relax...Heaven!!!

Day 3 ~

Today we were scheduled to go on a whale watch in the morning. When booking this, we talked about Doug writing us all a prescription for motion sickness and that is about as far as we got with that, just talked about it. that morning we talked about it again, but we figured we would be fine. Well as soon as the boat started, i could see on Doug's face that he wasn't liking it at all! Tyler had the look of fear on his face, Josh, Haden and I were fine. Well as soon as we stopped to see our first whale and we started snapping pictures, all of a sudden Doug was gone, i figured he found a better place to take pictures, so i dint think too much about it. Then a whale got too close to our boat and we had to turn off the engines and just float for a while until it was far enough away that we could start up again. Well the water was kind of choppy and we were moving quite a bit, then the lady on the intercom says, if anyone is feeling the effects of us drifting and isn't feeling too good, come down to the bottom deck and someone will help you, Tyler pops up and heads down, without saying a word to me, so of course i follow him, he isn't feeling good, we go down there and there is Josh, he says, i am not feeling too good. I ask Where's Dad? He says, "In the bathroom barfing" oh great! So i hang out with all the sick Os's and next thing i know Haden is joining us, he isn't too bad, but wants to be with the family, next thing you know, he isn't feeling too good either, so pretty much everyone but me is sick, and being around all those sick people plays tricks on your mind. But we managed to still see the whales, which was awesome. I was worried we wouldn't see any, since it was the second to last day of the whale watching season. This was a two hour trip, so poor Doug was pretty much sick the whole time, but he controlled it well, at least he wasn't puking off the side of the boat like some of them where!! After that we were all hungry and found a place called Cool Cats to eat at, they had the best burgers ever!! Everyone was feeling better after eating which was good, except for the fact we just dropped another $100 on lunch! I am starting to see a pattern here! We decided to head back to the condo and chill again by the beach, my favorite pass time!!

Day 4 ~

Today we went to visit my friend Stacie who just moved to Maui 6 months ago. She was in my bunko group and is a ton of fun to be around! Stacie lives in Kihei, so it was about a 45 minute drive there. She took us to Makena beach aka Big beach. It was a nice big beach with lots of sand and the waves were a little bigger. It was fun chatting seeing her, I miss her a lot, in fact our bunko group fizzled out when she left! Stacie and Emily have both told me about Little beach which is a nude beach right next to big beach just over some rocks, I had a hard time believing her, so she told me and Doug to go for a walk while she watches the boys to see for ourselves! Sure enough as soon as you get over the rocks there is a sign that reads, No Clothes beyond this point! I couldn't believe my eyes, there were all kinds of naked people and none of them should be, all old and fat, I guess when i envisioned a nude beach i thought of all these beautiful people, so not the case, what an eyeopener!! After playing at the beach for a while we decided to go out to eat. Stacie wanted to take us to the Seawatch at the Wailea golf course and eat there where there is the best view of the golf course and the ocean, so beautiful! After we ate we decided to head back to our condo. When we pulled into the parking lot the sun was just going down, so we grabbed our cameras and headed to the beach to watch the sunset, it was so beautiful! I am in love with the Maui sunsets!! After the sun went down we took a walk along the beach and then headed to the hot tub to soak our feet.

DAY 5~

Today we decided to check out some other beaches. We found a beach called D.T. Flemings,it was a great beach, the waves were better for boogie boarding which made Haden very happy, he loves to boogie board.I did get a great photo opportunity, all of a sudden a whole group of lifeguard came up over the rocks from a distance and of course i had to have my picture taken with them! That doesn't happen everyday!! It started to get really windy and the sand was pelting us pretty hard so we left after a couple of hours. Doug had a Tee time with(Dr. Jackson who happened to be in Maui at the same time)at 2:00. So he dropped us off. Stacie decided to come our way and take me and the boys to The Whalers Village for lunch and some shopping. We decided to eat at place called Leilani's it was right on the beach, very beautiful and the food was really good, I was thinking it didn't cost as much either until i realized it was 80 bucks and Doug wasn't with us!! We did some window shopping, it is kind of hard to do any shopping with three boys tagging along, but it was fun chatting with Stacie, i knew i wouldn't get to see her again this trip, so i was kind of sad.

Day 6~

Today we decided to get in the car and see if we could find the Nakalele blowhole and the Olivine pools. We all were wearing flip flops which probably wasn't the best choice since it was hiking all over lava rocks and stuff. The blowhole was cool, it was hard to take a picture at the right time when it would go off, but we got a few. Then we headed to the Olivine pools, they are pools that are surrounded by three sides of the ocean which is very ruff and crazy, i called it the angry ocean, cause it just looked mad! I was pretty scared I didn't feel at all safe, the kids and Doug were making fun of me, but then we over heard someone talking about their friends dad who died there trying to save his kids from a huge wave that took him out! Yeah, it was a cool place, but me being a worrier, i wanted out of there!! After the pools we decided to take the road up a little further to check it out and the road got smaller and smaller and it became this little dirt one way type road that led to a little village called Kahakuloa , where i bought the best banana bread on the planet, that is what the sign said, and i tell you, it really was!! I can not stop thinking about it, it was soooo good!! I bought two loafs and i should have gotten more!! Oh well i know where i am heading to next time in Maui:) After we headed back to the condo, we rested for a little bit and showered and got ready to go to the luau. We went to the Royal Lahaina Luau.It was fun, of course the dancing wasn't as good as Polynesian cultural center,but it was very entertaining, and we all thought the food was better at this one. No Hawaiian vacation is complete without going to a luau!!

DAY 7~

Today we decided to go back to D. T. Flemings beach. Haden really wanted to boogie board some more. Tyler was kind of mad, he wanted to go to the pool, he has decided that the pool at the condo is much funner than the beach, they have two pools, the garden pool is 3 ft to 4ft to 3 ft. so he can walk the whole pool, he was so excited when he found that out. So we decided to go to the beach for a couple of hours and then head back to the condo to hang out at the pool. When you have 3 different personalities, it is hard to please all three sometimes, but we did our best, we were exhausted, but it was a good time! After swimming Uncle Dave came and checked into the hotel, He lives in Oahu and came to visit us for two days. While he was getting settled into his place Doug and I showered up and headed to the grocery store to make dinner and try to save a little bit of money. We decided to make spaghetti. It was good and it felt nice not to spend so much to eat!!

DAY 8~

Today we had a full day planned. We got up early and headed to the swap meet. We got lost trying to find it, but we eventually found it. The kids were so excited to go to the swap meet, last year we went to the one in Oahu and they loved it, we were hoping it would be as good, but of course it wasn't. Josh was happy thou, he found a Jordan basketball jersey, so i guess the trip was worth it! Except for Haden pouted cause they didn't have anything his size, so we still owe him a jersey, but i haven't heard about it yet! After we found a mall and had lunch at the food court and then started out to drive the road to Hana. We decided to just do the Twin Falls hike and that is it, cause the kids didn't want to get car sick, and i didn't want to deal with sick kids again. I totally want to do the road to Hana, so I definitely have to go back to Maui, without kids!! Twin falls was a simple hike and quit beautiful for it not being one of the best hikes. I did get some banana bread from the little stand, hoping it would be the same as the other banana bread i got earlier that week, but it was not the same:( After our hike we turned around and on our way we passed a beach with a ton of surfers, we decided to stop and watch them for a while. We watched a crazy guy jumping the cliffs off into the water, and some crazy surfers. Then we headed back to the condo. Of course Tyler wanted to swim again, we were all tired, but he was determined. So we headed to the pool and we noticed a cool sunset so we went to the beach and took pictures and then hung at the pool and Jacuzzi. It was a long day, but everyone had a good time!

DAY 9~

Today we decided since it was our last day, we would go back D.T. Flemings beach, can you tell it was our favorite? We just layed out, the boys boogied boarded and Dave and Tyler sat under the trees in the shade, Tyler burned his back the day before and was not too happy about it! So he wanted nothing to do with the sun! While we were there we heard a big loud noise and a big group of bikers came driving up Doug said looks like another photo opportunity, I was a little more nervous about asking them to take a picture with me then with the life guards, but they ended up being super nice!The president of their chapter actually gave me his buisness card and told me to check out their blog, I had no idea that biker dudes have blogs!! After the beach we went and had our cheapest meal of them all, Mc Donalds (yuck) but the kids where happy, and i was happy it didnt cost an arm and a leg. After we ate Uncle Dave had to leave, to catch his flight back to Oahu, so we said goodbye and headed back to the condo, to do what else? You guessed it swim at the pool, Tyler loves the pool, Do you see a pattern here? Anyways we hung out there and then watched the sunset and over to the hot tub. The thought of this being our last full day made us all really sad and we didnt the night to end. We took a long walk along all the beach hotels and finally decided we better get back and start the dreaded packing and eat as much of the rest of the groceries we had in the kitchen.

DAY 10~

Today we go home, we were so sad. We checked out of our hotel and took one more lap around the grounds of the hotel and took some pictures before we had to head out to the airport. We were going to find an ABC store on our way to the airport, but couldn't find one. We found a mall and went to the food court to eat lunch and then realized time was going faster then we realized and we had to skip getting all of our souvenirs and head straight to the airport. Doug had to drop us off and then return the car and meet us at the gate, i don't know what happened, but we barely made it in time! I was sad, cause i kept putting off buying things cause i didn't want to lug it around with me and i knew we would do some shopping right before we left, but it never happened, so no gifts to give to friends and family, I am sorry:( Our flight left at 3:00 Hawaiian time and landed in Portland at 11:30. We had a layover until our next flight home at 6:00am. It wasn't quite enough time to go get a hotel and just long enough that we went a little crazy! We thought we could just go to one of the restaurants and have a late dinner but when we got there, we didn't realize that everything would be closed! We were the only ones in the airport except for the cleaning crew, it was kind of creepy. We knew we were going to have a long layover so we each packed a blanket and pillow and hoped to get a little sleep in. It was really hard to do with the intercom coming on every 20 minutes or so. Tyler and Haden finally fell asleep, i rested a little, Doug and Josh i don't think could sleep at all! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and would do it again if it meant we could go to Hawaii again!! All in all it was a successful trip, and i am so glad that the magic 8 ball wasn't right! Now i am trying to get back to life, i cant believe how tired i have been! I need a vacation after our vacation!!

Tomorrow is Doug's 42ND birthday and i didn't want his day to get overshadowed by the fact that we are going to Hawaii! (That doesnt sound right does it?) I just want to make sure he knows we haven't forgotten his special day. I have been so busy trying to get everything ready for this trip, i haven't gotten Doug anything for his birthday, a couple of weeks ago he ordered a golf club for himself and said it would be his birthday present and to not get him anything else, plus the fact that we are going to Hawaii. sounded good at the time, but now that it is almost here i feel guilty not getting him something because he is worth so much more than that to me! Doug is the best husband and father in the world! I cant tell you how perfect he is for me! We are opposites in many ways, and usually they are for the good. Doug doesn't get all stressed out over things, which helps me to calm down, since i stress about everything! Doug doesn't love treats, (now i should clarify this, Doug loves candy), I am talking about cookies, cakes, and other yummy baked goods, which is good, because i would be making them all the time and try to pass it off as breakfast, lunch and dinner! Doug is good at cooking and cooks quite often, which is so nice for me cause i seriously cant ever think of anything to make, while Doug has this gift of opening up the cupboard and seeing all kinds of stuff to make while i see nothing! He has spoiled us all with his bbqing skills, now when i order a steak somewhere it often doesn't compare to Doug's! Doug is also very thoughtful, he is always thinking of others. People tend to look at him and think he is mean and are intimidated by him, he really is a sweetheart. I have never met a nicer man! My boys look up to him and want to be like him when they grow up and i sure hope that they do! I could go on and on, What can i say, I am still so madly in love with him after all these years! I love you babe, hope you have a great Birthday!!

Since i wished Melissa a Happy Birthday the other day, i thought it only fair to wish Jim(my bro.) a Happy Birthday also! Jim you are such a fun brother, i am glad to have you as my little brother, my boys love having you as their uncle, they think you are the coolest uncle ever! I appreciate all that you do for us, you are always there for us when our computer crashes, or we cant figure out any other other electronic thing, having my boys for a week at a time so Doug and i can get away, or just inviting the boys over for a Halo night, you rock! I was telling them the other day about the Honda and the big speaker you made for the trunk and how it was the most awesome thing ever, and how we would just blast that radio with all that rap music while headed to our paper route at midnight!(they said, "they had rap way back then?" the nerve!) Those were some fun times!! I was also thinking about those huge awesome speakers you made for Doug and I for our wedding, I am still mad that we got rid of them, they were just too big to move all those times, but now we really wish we still held on to them, I know my boys would have really loved them too! Haden and Tyler

Haden has been pretty upset this week, he is 13, Tyler is 10. Sunday they decided to weight themselves and they weigh exactly the same!! Haden is bugged...big time!! We had him tested last month to make sure everything is normal, blood work, x-rays, and there seems to be nothing wrong other than he is taking after his father, who didn't grow until after high school when he was on his mission he came home 3 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier!! He is just a late bloomer or otherwise known as constitutional growth delay. So anyway, having Tyler be bigger and also my biggest of them all,(the boy likes to eat) doesn't make things any easier for him. Today i was at Costco and found some cute swimsuits for them, I wasn't quite sure what size to get them. So for Tyler i got a 10 and Haden a 12. Well this is where things get Haden even madder, the 10 fits Tyler perfect, the 12 is huge on Haden, so i have him try on the 10 to see if i just need to return it for another size 10. well the 10 is too big on him too!! He is not a happy camper! He tells Tyler he needs to go on a diet and storms off! I feel bad, I don't know what to do at this point, buying a 13 year old a size 8 swimsuit just doesn't seem right!! I am thinking i will get a 10 and have my mom take it in at the waist! I sure hope my little Haden starts to grow! And that this isnt giving Tyler more of a complex about his weight! I never thought with boys i would be dealing with this kind of thing.

Yesterday was Melissa's(my sister-in-law)birthday. I just wanted to tell her Happy Birthday and let her know how much i enjoy having her as not only my sister in law, but as my friend. Melissa is my exercise buddy, who without her I am totally weak and wont do it alone!( i know cause she was out of town last week and i didn't exercise once while she was gone!)I also love the talks we have while we are together, Not only does she keep me movin, she also listens to me and all of my life's nonsense and doesn't judge me for some of my thoughts and views, and thanks for all the times i have laughed so hard i cried! You are so fun to be with(note our picture above, there wasn't even music playing when we were getting our groove on! Happy Birthday girl!

The Wienermobile!!

Last Wednesday the new Walmart in Cedar hills opened up. My parents had just signed on their house and waiting to get the okay that everything funded and the house was officially theirs so they could get the keys and start moving in. My parents called and wanted to show me the house, but they were first going to get some lunch at the new Subway in the brand new Walmart. I am not a huge Subway fan, but wanted to see their house and even thou it isn't my favorite i can always eat! When we got to Walmart I was so excited, the Wienermobile was there!! I was very sad i didn't have my camera with me, but my dad reminded me that i have a camera on my phone, so he took a picture of me in front of it. I don't know why, but i have always thought that was the funniest, coolest thing ever! I can remember as a kid thinking it would be so cool to drive the wienermobile, maybe because it has the word wiener in it? not sure, but i thought it was so funny that it was at the little Cedar hills walmart grand opening! When we were there while we were eating my dad got the call that the house was finally theirs so we rushed over and started unloading the moving truck. Me, my mom and dad unloaded quite a bit, we unloaded a couch and love seat, coffee tables, queen size mattress and box springs and even carried it up the stairs, I wasn't planning on starting to move them that day, but they were so excited, I wasn't quite dressed for it, but I was pretty impressed with my parents who are 65 and me who is a wimp to move as much as we did. We have been moving them all week, and there is still stuff in their storage units. I guess moving stuff from a 6500 square foot home into a 3500 square foot home is going to be difficult. They have a ton of stuff, so they definitely have their work cut out for them! I am very happy for them, it has been a long time since they have had a place they can call home. And I got to see the Wienermobile up close and in person, see everyone wins:)

This is one of my new favorites. At Christmas time Doug and I were at the mall, this man stopped us, Doug must of been in a really good mood, cause we stopped and listened to and let the man do our nails. I usually don't buy this kind of thing, for one, it is always so dang expensive, and two, it is just some fad that i am sure i don't need. Well I loved how it made my nails look, they have been looking pretty scary lately, i have dark ridges in my nails which have been causing me all kinds of stress. I was scouring the Internet to find out what was wrong with me, sure i was dying of cancer, i just found out i was getting OLD! So anyways Doug bought it for me, i was feeling kind of guilty cause it was so expensive plus they talked us into a few other items we probably don't need. But this nail kit rocks! my nails look soo much better, of course they were looking really good and i was going to take a picture, but this Saturday we were helping my parents move and i broke 3 nails and so now they aren't too pretty, but they will be back i am sure of it! I was a little bugged to find it on EBay for a third of the price, but i am glad cause now when i need to buy more, i know where to buy it! Just thought i would share!

Spring Break

Well most of you know that we are going to Maui for Spring break, we are really excited!! We know that we probably should be spending the money elsewhere, like fixing up my ugly, ugly bathroom, but a couple of years ago, Doug and I were talking and we decided we really need to be building memories for our children and focusing less on what our house looks like(very hard for me to do). We have gone on some fun vacations and stuff, but i feel like lately my kids are growing up so fast, we really want to spend some quality time with them, before they are way too cool to be with us. Last year we took them to Oahu(their 1st time ever on a plane!) and we as a family probably had the most fun we have ever had! I am really hoping this year turns out the same. We are so excited, it just can't come soon enough!

Yesterday was my mom's 65Th birthday. Sunday we all got together over at Jim and Melissa's house to celebrate. I can't believe that she is 65, it seems like yesterday we were celebrating her 50Th in our little basement apartment in American fork, Josh was just a baby! Time sure seems to be flying by! Happy Birthday mom, I really am glad you are back, i really enjoy spending time with you, even just going to Walmart like we did today, Is always fun! I know my boys like knowing that their grandma is around, even if they don't always show it. Thanks for being such a great mother and example to me. I hope i grow up to be like you someday! I still don't know when i will feel grown up!!!

Well I haven't been very good at updating my blog lately. I decided to mess around with my layout and this is what i will have to have for now, i don't know how to change my middle paper and header, i am truly retarded when it comes to this kind of stuff!! If anyone has any wisdom for me it would be greatly appreciated!!
